I recently visited ICICI bank for some cash deposit and experience ICICI bank’s new cash deposit system found very interesting and unique. This system is available on Mobile App also, but I didn’t checked it yet.
ICICI Bank’s new cash deposit system is very interesting
I visited the bank, some customers are standing in front of a computer monitor. Some banking personnel is guiding them to enter the details. Out of curiosity, I asked him about cash deposit slip which I was using long back. The personnel told me that, you can do cash deposit from this monitor itself. After hearing that, my curiosity is on the top level, so I decided to do that procedure under his guidance.
What is the procedure?
The banking personnel was giving me instruction and I am following.
- Put your details, like Name, Mobile Number which you have currently.
- Press Next to go to the second screen after confirmation.
- On second screen, it is asking for the target account number where you want to deposit the cash.
- There is button to confirm/check the target account number. On pressing that button, it will show you the name of account holder.
- After account number confirmation, there is small textbox which ask you for amount to be deposited.
- Put that amount and press Next.
- Next screen asking for currency amount, like number of currency notes of 10 to 2000 on that screen.
- You have to put correct information of currency notes and it shows you the sum of amount at the bottom.
- On completing this screen, press Next/Finish.
- Here the process is completed and a text message will receive on you mobile number which you enter in first step.
- The text message you receive having a AlphaNumeric code, possibly start with TCDAxxxxxxxxxxx and then followed by 11 numbers.
- Visit the cashier counter, show that number to cashier, handover the amount and Done.
After 10-15 minutes, you amount will be transferred to the target account number and a credit message will sent to mobile number linked to that account. Also, a text message of confirmation will receive on your mobile number, which you entered in Step 1.
This method is called INSTA BANKING. I heard from them, that this information you can generate on your ICICI mobile banking app as well, and then directly visit to cashier counter with text message and amount. No need to use the bank’s computer and stay stand in the queue for some minutes.

Also, you can do this from iMobile App. Insta Banking is a new feature in the iMobile App. With this feature, you can save time at the branch by filling forms required for various transactions, even before you reach the branch.
Conclusion
I feel thrilled with this experience that’s why I told that ICICI Bank’s new cash deposit system is very interesting. The technology is really going paperless now. This is complete new world, and everything is really instant with the help of the Internet. This is life is much easier than the life we lived till 2010. Big thanks to the technology.
